We consider coexisting with the global environment in line with our Basic Environmental Policy to be a key management issue, and carefully consider the environment through efforts to conserve energy at our stores, deal with waste home appliance/electronics, and recycle.
Basic Environmental Policy
K’s Denki is an Eco Mark-certified retail store.
In April 2019, the Company became the first home appliance/electronics mass retailer to receive “Retail Stores Version 2” Eco Mark certification. The certification criteria are divided into six evaluation categories,*1 and evaluation items include basic environmental measures such as waste management and energy- and water-saving, as well as diverse perspectives on sustainability and other matters, such as retailing with streamlined packaging, and the SDGs. For chain store operators, the implementation status of chain-wide measures is evaluated.
Based on the above standards, we scored well on the evaluation because we have an extensive assortment of Eco Mark-certified and other environmentally friendly merchandise, collect and recycle used merchandise at our stores, and undertake initiatives for promoting environmentally friendly activities together with consumers.
