Purpose of establishing the Human Rights Policy

The K’s Denki Group*1 strives to reliably do the right thing without overdoing it based on our management policy of “Gambaranai Keiei” (a management approach of not trying too hard), seek to build a business that is centered on people, and engage in activities that spread the “harmony with, and circles of” people through our business activities, leading to greater contribution to society. As a part of our efforts to actualize this corporate philosophy that places importance on people, and to fulfill our corporate responsibility of respecting human rights, we have formulated and disseminated the corporate policy on human rights in line with the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.*2

K’s Denki Group Human Rights Policy

Respecting the human rights of everyone, including employees, business partners, customers, and shareholders, is an integral value that extends across all the business activities of the K’s Denki Group. The Group views respecting human rights as an important corporate responsibility, based on our corporate philosophy that places importance on people above all. Accordingly, we have formulated the K’s Denki Group Human Rights Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) as follows.

Basic Stance

The K’s Denki Group supports and respects international norms on human rights based on the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. These include, but are not limited to, the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. The K’s Denki Group does not engage in any discriminatory practices on any grounds, including race, nationality, religion, philosophy, principle, sex, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical features. It prohibits child labor and forced labor, and provides a safe and healthy working environment.

Scope of Application

This Policy is applicable to all officers and employees of the K’s Denki Group. All parties who are engaged in transactions with the K’s Denki Group are also required to understand and comply with this Policy.

Implementation of Human Rights Due Diligence

The K’s Denki Group seeks to prevent and mitigate risks that may have an impact on human rights by establishing human rights due diligence mechanisms and identifying important risks associated with human rights.

Establishing Mechanisms for Remedy

In cases where the business activities of the K’s Denki Group are proven to have had a direct and negative impact on human rights, proven to have had an indirect impact on human rights through its business relations, etc., or are suspected of having a negative impact on human rights even if not proven, the Group shall put in place remedy measures through dialogue and appropriate procedures based on international standards. It shall also ensure that the internal whistleblower system functions to provide access to remedies, and build mechanisms to correct and remedy adverse effects on human rights.

Educational and Awareness-raising Initiatives

The K’s Denki Group shall actively conduct training and activities to raise awareness, as well as work with all its stakeholders to enhance awareness of human rights, so as to ensure that this Policy is fully embedded into all the business activities of the Group and effectively implemented.

Dialogue with Stakeholders

The K’s Denki Group shall engage in dialogue and consultations with all relevant stakeholders on responding to the potential risks and negative impact associated with human rights, and strive to enhance efforts to respect human rights.

Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives

The K’s Denki Group considers it an important management issue to bring about the realization of sustainable growth and the happiness of all stakeholders by utilizing diverse human resources and providing them with opportunities to maximize their capabilities, thereby creating innovation and contributing to value creation. To achieve this, the K’s Denki Group aims to foster a corporate culture that accepts human resources with diverse values. At the same time, it shall bring about significant social contributions by putting effort into building a business that is centered on people without being constrained by age, gender, nationality, disability, or other differences and engage in activities that spread the “harmony with, and circles of” people through our business activities, leading to greater contribution to society.

Information Disclosure
